The General Directorate of Monuments Administration and Tourist Promotion of Hunedoara County (GDMATP) is a public institution under the coordination of the Hunedoara County Council that was established in 2021 with the main purpose of protecting and enhancing the Dacian fortresses from the Orăștiei Mountains, as well as the historical monuments and memorial houses of local interest. The promotion of cultural values, the tourism promotion of Hunedoara County, and the contribution through specific means to the sustainable development of the county are clear objectives for GDMATP Hunedoara

Description

The piece made of limestone has hemispherical shape and presents a small crack in the upper part. Some of its decorative elements can still be distinguished: the median ribs on the upper part and the stylized water on the lateral sides. Such pieces were discovered in the sacred area and in the emplecton of the fortification from Grădiștea de Munte – Sarmizegetusa Regia. It is believed that such pieces had a decorative role, most probably, within some constructions from the sacred area of the settlement.
